This year the Christmas Joy offering will be occurring on December 20th. The Christmas Joy Offering is one of the Special Offerings of the Presbyterian Church USA. “A gift to the Christmas Joy Offering helps provide financial assistance to current and former church workers and their families and also enables deserving students to attend Presbyterian-related racial ethnic colleges and schools”-Presbyterian Church USA. This donation will help people like Doreen Kayla who grew up in Kenya and experienced the violence of the Kenyan crisis. She was able to find healing and support at Stillman College, thanks to donations from the Christmas Joy Offering. Your contribution will also help people like Rev. Thomas and Laurel Gard who received a grant from the Board of Pensions, which gets donations from the Christmas Joy Offering. Laurel has multiple sclerosis, which requires Tom to lift her in and out of their car. This was very hard for Thomas who is becoming older and is also damaging to Laurel’s health. The grant from the board of pensions allowed them to purchase a van which has wheelchair access, making it much easier for both of them. Your donation to this offering will help people like Doreen and the Gard’s, and so many more. I ask you to consider how much you are able to give this Christmas and thank you in advance for your generous donations.
