How fitting that we participate in the Presbyterian Christmas Joy Offering during the week of advent that focuses on joy. The joy of being able to give to a worthy cause and affect the lives of others in a positive way is powerful. The joy of receiving uplifting support from unknown people who are acting in faith is dynamic and inspiring.
The Christmas Joy Offering is divided by the Presbyterian Church between support for Presbyterian schools and colleges, students of color who want to attend those schools, and retired pastors and church workers who are in need of financial assistance. The Presbyterian Church has been acting on the fact that black lives matter for 140 years!
