Adult Sunday Education

Adult Sunday Education runs September through May and is held in the library on Sunday mornings from 11:30 AM to 12:15.  Pastor Karen and members of the congregation lead adults in assorted topics.  Typically, the studies run for a set amount of Sunday sessions but are formatted so that anyone can drop in any Sunday during the session.  In the first part of 2015, Adult Sunday Education followed the book We Make the Road by Walking, by Brian McLaren.

Bible Study for Adults

Pastor Karen leads this small group study.  Presently, they meet the fourth Monday of every month excluding July and August from 1:30 to 2:30 PM in the library “All are invited!”

Children’s Sunday School

Children from 3 years through middle school age participate in Sunday School which takes place after the worship service, from 11:30 AM to 12:15.  Classes are divided into similar age groups and each has their own room and leader.  We use Seasons of the Spirit curriculum.

Elementary Fellowship

Our popular Elementary Fellowship Group (K-5) meets for dinner, Bible Study and fun Bible themed games every other Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.  Youth Activities Director, Jennifer Houston leads this group, ably assisted by teen graduates of the program.  Wedgwood Presbyterian Church children and friends, Vacation Bible School attendees and neighborhood children are invited!

Middle & High School Youth Group

This committed mission-minded group of young people meets weekly on Tuesday evenings for dinner and fellowship from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.  They participate in and help plan our annual Christmas Pageant, Youth-Led Worship Service and Vacation Bible School.  A favorite activity of the group is prepping and serving dinner the first Wednesday of every month at Teen Feed, a program for homeless and at-risk youth.  One of our youth members planned a wildlife sanctuary garden on our south lawn.  All of the youth group members helped bring the garden to fruition and continue to garden there still.  There is even a garden area set apart for produce for the North Helpline food bank.  This group is open to all middle and high school aged youth whether they are attending members of Wedgwood Presbyterian or not.

Vacation Bible School

Wedgwood Presbyterian holds a weeklong summer Vacation Bible School for children ages three through those who have completed fourth grade, usually in June or July.  This safe, fun ministry is staffed by members and older youth of the church.  All children are invited to attend whether affiliated with WPC or not.  You can find information about Vacation Bible School on our Facebook page usually starting in February.

Sound View Camp

Our children, youth and families are encouraged and financially supported to attend summer camp at Sound View Christian Camp on the Kitsap Peninsula.  Attending camp at Sound View is somewhat of a rite of passage for many of our children, many of whom have gone on to be leaders in training or on staff there.  Learn more about camp at Sound View Camp
