Dear Anne,
It is my sincere pleasure to share with you that you have been selected to receive this year’s UW Bothell Legacy Award in recognition of your decades of service, leadership, and philanthropy that has strengthened the School of Nursing & Health Studies, UW Bothell and support-ed generations of students.
Anne, for more than 25 years you dedicated yourself to teaching in both the UW Seattle and UW Bothell nursing programs, leaving a lasting mark on countless students and colleagues. Your unwavering commitment to nursing education and student success was instrumental in shaping the very foundation of UW Bothell’s nursing program. Most recently, your leadership and expertise were recognized with an invitation to serve on the newly formed School of Nursing & Health Studies’ Dean Advisor Council—an honor that reflects the profound impact of your career.
Your legacy is perhaps most visible in your visionary philanthropic act of initiating the UW Bothell Nursing Scholarship, the first fund dedicated exclusively to supporting UW Bothell nursing students. You created a spark of giving by inviting graduates, colleagues and friends to contribute to the scholarship upon your retirement in 2002 – a spark that continues to this day.
In a 2004 UW Bothell publication, you shared the heart of your motivation: “For me, what we’re saying to our students is that we believe in them and are willing to invest in them.” I believe this belief has guided your philanthropy for nearly 30 years.
Since its creation, you have continued to contribute to and grow the scholarship fund, ensuring that future generations of nursing students have access to the financial support they need to pursue their education and serve their communities.
Your generosity extends beyond your giving each year. Your planned gift to support UW Bothell’s School of Nursing & Health Studies is a testament to your enduring belief in the mission of this special campus and your desire to ensure its continued excellence long into the future.
